Asus Eee PC series Laptop

I first saw one of these while shopping round for a cheap new PC for work. I actually thought it was some sort of kid's toy when I first clapped eyes on it.

The Asus Eee PC series laptop really is tiny. It's about the size of a thin oversized hardback book (think Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone!) and is incredibly lightweight.

It comes with charger that is more like a large phone charger than a laptop one, and it is absolutely brimming with features.

It doesn't have a hard drive in the normal sense and uses sold state memory instead. The memory size is tiny, but to be honest, if you are wanting something to do lots of work on, you wouldn't look at this anyway.

So what is it good for? Travel, surfing the net, general use. It has a built in Wi-Fi adaptor, that produces a nice strong connection and it is perfect for internet browsing.

Some models even have a built in webcam. It has speakers and a mic as well and comes pre installed with Skype, messenger, etc...

This would make it ideal for someone planning to go travelling. With the ability to phone home for free at a wifi hotspot, it would be invaluable.

Also as it uses web based email, etc... it is a great item to do a few basic work related tasks on while you're on the move.

It does take a little while to get used to the smaller keyboard, especially someone who has huge hands, like me, but I've been using it about 3 weeks now and I have grown used to it. in fact, I am typing this review on it now!

The very best thing about the Eee PC though is the price. At £199, it really is a must have item for anyone looking for an easy to use, dinky laptop.

Buy one, you won't be disappointed!
